Our aim at Thorpe Primary is to narrow the gap in attainment and educational opportunity between those children attracting pupil premium funding and their peers.
The Pupil Premium is an allocation of additional funding provided to schools to support specific groups of children who are vulnerable to possible underachievement. These include pupils who are or have been entitled to free school meals within the last six years, those looked after by the local authority and children of armed services personnel. Any child who has claimed free school meals in the past 6 years is also entitled to this funding. This is called ‘Ever 6’.
It is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium is spent, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils within their responsibility.
All schools are required to report on the amount of funding received, how this is being used, and the impact of any work done. See our report below for more details.
