Thank-you to all our parent and staff volunteers who helped with the discos on Wednesday. They were another success and raised £290 . Thank-you for supporting this event.
The Book People – Book Bus
This year rather than have the book People’s book fair in school, we have arranged for their Book bus to come to school. This will take place on Friday 29th November.
On the day of the Book Bus visit, the bus will turn up at the school and park in a pre-agreed spot. The driver and team will get set up ready to welcome students, parents and staff on board.
It will be open before and after school to enable parents to visit with their child/children. During the day, one class at a time will visit the bus.
To make sure everyone gets a chance to browse the books, we recommend each class going on the Book Bus one at a time, and opening before or after school for parents to enjoy too.
School will earn commission on all sales from the Book Bus which we can then spend on books at Book People.
More information about timings and the books in stock on the Book Bus will be sent out nearer the day.
Our Christmas service on Thursday 12th December at 9.30am will now be in school due to the Church being used as a polling station on this day. We tried to re-arrange another date and time to hold our service in church but there were no mutually convenient days and times available. Rev Jim will attend our service in school and we hope you can join us.
Anti-Bullying Week 11th – 15th November
We will once again be supporting this campaign, which is co-ordinated by the Anti-Bullying Alliance each year.
This year’s theme is: Change Starts With Us
The theme aims are as follows:
Small change. Big difference.
Whether it is verbal, physical, online or in-person, bullying has a significant impact on a child’s life well in to adulthood. By making small, simple changes, we can break this cycle and create a safe environment for everyone. Because together, we can challenge bullying. Change starts with a conversation. It starts with work together.
Change starts here.
Change starts now.
Change starts with us.
In school children will be taking part in activities around anti-bullying.
We will again be taking part in the ‘Odd Socks’ Day on Tuesday 12th November. Children will come into school in uniform, but can, if they wish, wear odd socks.
Children in Need
For a donation of £1 we are having a non-uniform day on Friday 15th November to support Children in Need.
We are having a non-uniform day on Friday 22nd of November for the Christmas Fair. Please can all children bring a chocolate donation for the chocolate tombola. Thank you.
