Please be aware of the speed of the cars going up and down Bradford Road when you are dropping off and picking your children up.   Reception and KS1 parents please make sure you accompany your child to the school door when dropping them off. KS2 children need to be supervised at all times by an adult on both playgrounds. Thank you for your co-operation and support.

You should have received a Starlight bag in your child’s book bag this week. Please fill it if you have any unwanted clothes and bring into the office by Friday 13th October. Thank you.

Our Big Me day on Monday 16th October

On Monday 16th October we will be joining schools across the UK and taking part in Big Me to help raise money for the charity ActionAid!

Big Me is a day for your child to come to school dressed as what they want to be when they grow up. They will spend the day exploring their hopes and dreams, writing a letter or postcard to their future selves. There are no limits here and any future job or career is acceptable. Maybe even some that don’t exist yet?

Chef, writer, builder, driver, vet, engineer… the sky’s the limit (pilot or astronaut?) The children will also be learning about children in other countries.

Please help your child take part in Big Me day by doing the following:

  • Help your child choose what to wear on the day. This doesn’t have to be bought and we are not expecting you to spend a long time on this. It can be a complete outfit or it could be something as simple as a prop, such as an apron (for future chefs), a hairbrush (for future hairdressers) or a sports item (for a future Olympian).

  • Send your child to school with a small donation for ActionAid. The suggestion is 50p, but any change you can spare is greatly appreciated.
  •  School will also donate an amount to the charity.
    • School will also donate an amount to the charity.nate an amount to the charity.contact the school office if you are interested.

Let us know if you would like to do a talk. We would be delighted if any parents/carers could volunteer to come and talk about their job, what it involves, and the journey you took to get there. Please contact the school office if you are interested.

We’re really excited about dressing up and dreaming big on Big Me day!  You can find out more about ActionAid and Big Me at actionaid.org.uk/big-me.

October half-term Minecraft Meet holiday activity

The Curriculum Innovation team is again delivering its highly popular holiday Minecraft Meet during October half-term.

If you are aged between 6 and 11 years old, then join the Bradford Curriculum Innovation team for one of our half-day Minecraft fun meets.

Have you ever wanted to be a Youtuber?  Then this is your chance!

In this Minecraft session, to be held at The Innovation Centre Bradford, we will create a story, build a stage, add some actors and then teach you how to film it and record a voice over. Your video will then be loaded onto our website to share with your friends and family. You have the choice of attending either the morning or the afternoon session.

As a memento of the day, you will be given a free photo of you in a Minecraft world to take away with you and a special souvenir. Sessions are priced at £9.50 per child. Please visit:
