On Friday 14th July, all of our children took part in an Art Day with the theme of colour. The children took part in a range of activities including shaving foam and bubble printing, decorating biscuits and making colourful flowers from coffee filters. Some children also had the opportunity to contribute to a piece of work on canvas that will be displayed in the hall. Staff and children alike all agreed that this was a fabulous day and produced some amazing artwork.

Summer Reading Challenge

Every year, libraries across the country launch a summer reading challenge. The aim is to increase the number of children reading and visiting their local libraries during the summer holidays. This year, the theme is Animal Agents and it looks set to enthuse and interest your child to get reading! The children have had an assembly all about the Animal Agents Reading Challenge so they already know all about it. To get started, they just need to be a member of the local library and to pick up their Animal Agents fold-up wallet. There are also stickers, bookmarks, fortune tellers, keyrings and wristbands to collect as they read new books. Every child who reads 6 books over the summer will receive a certificate and medal to celebrate their achievement, and we shall be holding an assembly in September to celebrate every child that completes the challenge. Let’s get reading, kids!
