Staff and Governors have recently been reviewing the school safeguarding procedures and as a result please see the following:-
As a safe guarding precaution, the school gates will be locked at 9am. If you bring your child to school after this time you must come in through the main car park gate and round to the school office.
Please do not bring your vehicle into the school grounds when dropping off and picking up your children to ensure that all those walking are safe.
We have received a number of complaints about inconsiderate parking on Albion Road, please take care when driving on the roads around school. Please use the car park in the village or the co-op if possible.

We have recently reviewed a number of our school policies including, Behaviour, Anti-Bullying,Teaching and Learning, Health and Safety and Assessment. These can be found on the schools website for you to read.
The school council are entering a competition being offered to Primary Schools across Yorkshire and Humber for the Great Yorkshire Show 2017. The competition is to plant a vegetable box with bee-friendly flowers. We are looking forward to watching their flowers grow and bloom. You can see the box outside our school office.
One of our parents Mr Kaczmarczyk, who is a bee keeper, came and spoke to the school council yesterday. We would like to thank him for an interesting and informative session. We can’t wait to taste the honey from his own bees!

There is lots going on at your local Library, which is situated in the Wright Watson Centre at the bottom of the village.
April 3rd – Easter Egg Hunt 10am-11am (including storytime) and 4.30pm-5.30pm. Prizes to be won.

Red Nose Day
Thank you for all your support last Friday. We managed to raise £333.63.
We hope you all had a fantastic Mother’s Day and liked your gifts from your children.
Thank you to all the helpers on Wednesday night for our school disco. The children really enjoyed the dancing and the games, and a fantastic time was had by all.
Easter Assembly on Friday 7th April @ 9.00 am. YR, Y1 and Y2 children are invited to decorate a hat, which they will parade in during the assembly. A winner will be chosen from each class and receive a prize. Please make sure your child’s hat/bonnet is in school by Thursday 5th April so they can be judged before the assembly. The theme for the bonnets is Easter/Spring.
Y3, Y4, Y5, and Y6 can enter the Decorate an Egg competition, which also needs to be in school on Thursday so they can also be judged before the assembly. There is no theme for this competition, we are looking forward to seeing your creative ideas.
We would like to remind you that the last swimming session for Y5 is on Tuesday 4th April.
