10th February 2017
Fairtrade Fortnight 2017: Monday 27 February – Sunday 12 March
Fairtrade Fortnight is held every year and is a time when campaigners, businesses, schools and places of worship show their support for the farmers and workers who grow our food in developing countries.
We will be supporting this event by holding a coffee morning in the community room, on Wednesday 8th March 9.00am – 10.30am.
The School Council will be writing to the local co-op asking for Fairtrade items such as coffee and tea.
We would appreciate donations of buns, biscuits and cakes for the coffee morning. If these are Fairtrade or use any Fairtrade ingredients, that would be great! Please bring donations into school on 7th or 8th March.
In line with the L.E.A. and teachers’ professional association guidelines, no medicines will be given to children with the following exceptions:
- Inhalers – these are kept in a safe place in the classroom
- Prescribed medicines where the frequency of dosage makes this necessary
- Medication cited in a medical care plan
Any medicine should be brought to the office by an adult and must be clearly marked with the child’s name and dosage. Parents need to sign a medical consent form and telephone when the medicine is due to be given. Alternatively parents can choose to come and administer medicines themselves. We cannot administer non prescribed medicines.
For more information please see our medical policy on the school’s website.
If you have any questions, please contact school.
Thank-you for your continued support.
Parent Consultations will be held on Monday 13th March and Tuesday 14th March. Letters were sent home yesterday, Thursday 9th February, if you did not receive a letter please contact the school office.
Y2 won the attendance for last week.
